Throughout the years, patients have asked a number of questions. Here are the answers to those most frequently asked. Of course, we hope you will also talk to us in person about any concerns you have.
How does the doctor keep up to date on all of the current techniques and materials?
Dr. Carson is a big believer in continuing his education beyond dental school, so much so, that he has accumulated 400 hours worth of continuing education in the last three years--more than five times the number required in most states and dental organizations. For you the patient, this means you couldn't be in more competent hands when it comes to dentistry. Dr. Carson has experience and training in all aspects of general dentistry, including esthetics, endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and implantology.

Can you show me what my smile can look like ahead of time with imaging software?
Of course we can. Most patients like to see what they'll look like after dental treatment, so we feed your current smile into the computer imaging system, and then electronically we work on your bite, alignment, shade of teeth, and much more. Once we're done, we have a good facsimile of what your smile could look like after your proposed dental treatment. We'll even let you take home a copy to discuss the results with family members and friends.

Do you accept referrals?
Yes we do. We're always looking forward to helping new patients. When you recommend a family member or friend to us, we believe it's one of the highest compliments you can give. Thank you.

What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?
Dr. Carson is a third-generation dentist. His father was a periodontist and his grandfather was a prosthodontist. For you the patient, that means you are with a dentist who literally grew up in the field of dentistry, liked what he saw, and decided to dedicate his own life to the profession. Dr. Carson is also avidly studying the latest developments in dentistry to make sure he can offer you the latest techniques.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?
We have the capability to provide in-office teeth whitening for very fast results. We use Zoom!™ as seen on ABC's Extreme Makeover. If you can wait about two weeks for results, we offer a home-teeth-whitening system. Both techniques are individually tailored to each patient and both will give a whiter smile.
One tell-tale sign that it's a good time for you to whiten your teeth is if you're embarrassed to smile because of the color of your teeth. Yellowish teeth are the result of years of coffee or tea drinking, and/or smoking. Greenish teeth are usually the result of tetracycline exposure as a child. If that's the case, there is no reason to suffer any embarrassment because of the shade of your teeth. There is an easy and efficient way to whiten your teeth---up to nine shades lighter. Try it.

I really don't like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?
Dr. Carson has treated hundreds of patients who said, "I don't really like going to the dentist." He's very gentle and has a light, careful touch. After dental treatment, fearful patients say, "Wow, that wasn't so bad at all!" If you haven't been to the dentist in a while, we're sure you'll find a big difference with Dr. Carson.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces. What would you recommend?
There are actually several options to consider, including bonding and veneers. An all-porcelain restoration can be bonded to your teeth to change the color, correct the alignment, and give a natural smile. It takes about two or three dental appointments versus the traditional two years that it takes for braces to fix crooked teeth.
